Assault Causing Bodily Harm

Our client was at a party during his first year of university. He accompanied his friend to the washroom. While there, they encountered two other individuals in the washroom, both of them known to our client. Without warning, our client punched one of the two in the mouth, breaking his tooth.

Our client was charged with assault bodily harm. The prosecution wanted our client to receive a criminal record. However, our client successfully attended some anger management and substance abuse courses and he decided to accept responsibility with a guilty plea.

RESULT: Our client received a conditional discharge, which does not result in a permanent criminal record.
